Miguel Díaz-Canel, President of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers, led a working meeting yesterday with government authorities and central state enterprise management.

Analysis of projections for the economy over the rest of the year and directives to guide 2019 planning were addressed during the meeting, also attended by José Ramón Machado Ventura, second secretary of the Party.

The fundamental role of Government Councils in perfecting Cuba’s state enterprise system was emphasized.

It was reported that measures for the last part of the year have been adopted to assure meeting the principal goals of the 2018 Plan, directed primarily toward imports and other hard currency expenditures.

2018 Plan projections for basic services to the population and key development projects will be met.

Díaz-Canel discussed the importance of cadres being sensitive to the population’s problems, never overlooking poor quality, and maintaining close ties with grassroots leaders.
