One group of local coalitions (in NYC-area and Georgia) is through the World African Diaspora Union (WADU), http://wadupam.org. They are actively working with the AU to unify African people under a Pan African federated government and issues regarding ending sanctions against Zimbabwe; working with Friends of the Congo http://www.friendsofthecongo.org; Reparations with N’Cobra; and halting tentacles of neo-colonialism and imperialism in Africa with many groups.

To check out upcoming events in NYC and Georgia see: http://www.wadupam.org/wadu-pushing-brath-branch-au-government-2014-resolution.
cybergracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09378213161792301539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16711557.post-19631543158987566752014-05-28T14:35:38.026-04:002014-05-28T14:35:38.026-04:00I agree with most everything AND want to point out...I agree with most everything AND want to point out that the African Union was smart and helpful on Libya. Before the U.S./NATO bombarded Libya the AU came up with a peaceful, African-led solution to Libyan problems. The AU showed the world a concrete example of how "African solutions to African problems" was SO much more humane, effective, cheaper, foresighted than the “solution” imposed on Libya (e.g. now all the loose weapons affecting Mali, Nigeria, Syria, etc.).

A key part of the solution is African solutions. Can we really ignore the entire AU? Haven’t parts of it been spot on and important to uplift? Wasn't past AU-Diaspora work around the invasion of Libya a worthwhile model?

Pan-African Newswire has been sooo important in educating Pan African and anti-imperialist folks. Please continue to enlighten us about how we can support African institutions and demands. (For example, Pan Africans in the NYC area organized impressive demonstrations against the Libyan invasion, publicized the AU’s much superior roadmap and toured former U.S. congresswoman Cynthia McKinney discussing her trip to Libya. There must be similar efforts going on now.) How can we support our radical comrades inside the AU fighting U.S./NATO imperialism, AFRICOM, boycotts such as that on Zimbabwe, etc.? Thank you.
