The President of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, yesterday morning attended the XLIII Ordinary General Assembly of the Central American and Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (OCCEFS) that is concluding its meeting today in Havana’s Hotel Nacional, according to the Presidential website.

Delegations from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru and the Dominican Republic participated in the meeting, which was chaired by Nelson Shack Yalta, Comptroller General of the Republic of Peru, in his capacity as President of OCCEFS, which includes national audit institutions from the entire Latin American and Caribbean region.

Díaz-Canel reiterated the Cuban people and government’s full support of the event, given “the vocation of our government to advance processes that help us be more transparent before the people, and allow us to address, in a comprehensive manner, dysfunctional government activity and avoid evils like corruption.”
