Libya: 90 Dead, 200 Wounded in Murzuq 6,500 Displaced

(ANSAmed) - TUNIS, AUGUST 16 - Since the start of the escalation of violence in Murzuq, Libya, at least 90 civilians were killed and some 6,500 were displaced in the city and neighboring areas while many homes and infrastructures were destroyed, the United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Libya has tweeted.

OCHA tweeted an update on the situation in Murzuq, the capital of Fezzan, which over the past month has been at the center of a complex situation with repeated attacks.

The most recent attack was an air raid on August 4 attributed to forces of the so-called Libyan National Army (LNA) of Khalifa Haftar, which killed at least 42 people.

OCHA in Libya said that at least 200 people have been wounded in Murzuq over the last month.

Over 1,285 families have been displaced.
