UNSC's Closed-Door Meeting Censured
A spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK on August 2 issued the following statement:

The United Nations Security Council, at the instigation of Britain, France and Germany, held a closed-door meeting on August 1, at which it termed the DPRK's measures for arms modernization the "violation of resolutions".

The DPRK has never recognized the UNSC's anti-DPRK "resolutions" fabricated illegally by the UN according to its taste, nor will it recognize them in the future, too.

It is an insult, disregard and grave provocation against the DPRK to cook up such "resolutions" that the relevant party does not recognize and to say this or that over a matter related with the sovereignty of a sovereign state.

It is a very self-evident truth that any projectile draws a ballistic curve, not a straight line, owing to earth gravity.

The UNSC takes issue with the firing based on the ballistic technology, not the range of the projectile. This means that the DPRK should give up the right to self-defence.

Besides, the DPRK has neither concluded an agreement on limitation of the range of missile and other projectiles with any country nor been bound to international law concerened.

The DPRK's decision to suspend the nuclear test and ICBM test-fire is a token of goodwill and consideration for its dialogue partner. It is by no means a part of acts to recognize and abide by the UNSC's absurd "resolutions" against the DPRK.

In consideration of the universal expectations of the international community for peace and stability of the Korean peninsula, the DPRK has already suspended the nuclear test and ICBM test-fire with the maximum patience for more than twenty months.

But the UNSC is getting on the nerves of the DPRK by groundlessly slandering its measures for conventional weaponry development while turning a blind eye to the war exercises staged in south Korea and shipment of cutting-edge attack weapons into it.

This makes our patience with the UN disappear and turn into anger.

What is more ridiculous is that Britain, France and Germany were so impudent as to take the lead in convening the meeting against the DPRK and issuing a "joint statement".

The DPRK will never allow anyone to try to flout its sovereignty and its right to self-defence, but will settle accounts with them.

Those countries that took the lead in convening the closed-door meeting of the UNSC should properly reflect on their reckless behaviour of poking their nose into other's internal affairs.

Britain, France and Germany should realize before it is too late that their recent stupid remarks and deeds would not restrain the tension on the Korean peninsula but serve as a catalyst for aggravation.

They are advised to no longer hold such a meeting of laughing stock.
