LUANDA, September 06 -- Angolan President José Eduardo dos Santos Thursday in Luanda analysed with the Cuban ambassador to Angola, Pedro Ross Leal, existing cooperation between the two countries.
Speaking to the press, the Cuban diplomat said that his country`s cooperation with Angola in this national reconstruction period was also analysed at the meeting with the Angolan president.
"Angola is enjoying a very special moment, as reconstruction is visible across the national territory. Cuba, with its experience, has the possibility to participate in rehabilitation works, to the benefit of all Angolan citizens”, emphasized Pedro Ross Leal.
The rehabilitation of a country, after a long-time war, he stressed, is not an easy task, but rehabilitation programmes will be implemented with efforts made by Angolan Government in cooperating with Cuba.
Speaking of his country’s wish to participate in the rehabilitation of Angola, the ambassador quoted the example of the presence, in Luanda, of Cuban physicians trained in various specialities, who have already conducted 15,000 consultations, 700 surgeries, among others.
During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat transmitted to the Angolan head of State a congratulations message on his 65th anniversary, on August 28 this year, sent by his country’s vice president, Raul Castro.
