Phumzile on the new ANC leadership

The change of ANC leadership should not cause anxiety about stability in the country, as the government would continue to implement its policies, Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka said in the Netherlands on Tuesday.
"The resolutions taken at the ANC conference late last year have guaranteed continuity and predictable changes which will assist with stability and managed transition, Ngcuka said.
The Presidency said in a statement on Wednesday that Ngcuka — who is on an official visit to the Netherlands — would meet the Minister of Development Co-operation, Members of the Dutch Parliament and members of former anti-apartheid movements.
The deputy president said the business community in the Netherlands was committed to investment in South Africa.
She praised the Dutch for their involvement in the Joint Initiative on Priority Skills Acquisition (Jipsa).
She said skills shortages in the country should be addressed by technical and international support.
"The problem of skills should be addressed by international and technical support transfer to developing countries," Ngcuka said.
The deputy president praised Dutch companies showing an interest in the 2010 World Cup, saying SA intended to leave a lasting legacy after the games had ended.
Ngcuka leaves the Netherlands on Wednesday afternoon for Ireland.
