Aretha Franklin says health problem ‘resolved’

Speaking about the health problems she has been battling, Aretha Franklin said "the problem has been resolved." The famously private Queen of Soul spoke in a new interview with a journalist friend at Jet Magazine, Clarence Waldron.
"I am not one to do a lot of talking about my personal health or business," Franklin said. "Not too much, not too much. There are a lot of people who will talk about anything, as long as there is somebody listening. But I am not one of those people. That's not Aretha."
Asked directly about the reports that she had pancreatic cancer — she underwent a procedure at a Detroit hospital in early December — Franklin said, "I am not going to even deal with that. I don't have to talk about my health with anybody other than my doctors. The problem has been resolved."
Franklin told the magazine that her problem came to light when she noticed a hard pain in her side during a Toronto concert last year. Getting it checked out by her Detroit doctors led to her diagnosis.
The singer thanked fans for their prayers, flowers and notes, and asked that her privacy be respected as she continued to recover.
