Twin Explosions Rock Presidential Palace in Kismayu

Kismayu (sh.M.Network) explosions believed to be made of remote controlled land mines today rocked Kismayu city which is located in the lower region of Juba.This explosions occurred at the presidential palace early Morning. During the incident the occupants of area affected were members and top officials of the Raskamboni brigade led by
(Ahmed Mohamed Islam ) Ahmed Madobe.

Witness who were at area informed Shabele that two large explosions were heard. They informed us that the explosions were land mines controlled by remotes and had caused damages.the explosions happened at a base owned by the brigade.

A witness who declined to be named told the Shabele that the first explosion occurred at the base before a large crowd gathered which then came a second explosion. The second explosion went off just as members of the brigade gathered at the place and might have caused severe damages.

Members of the brigade dispersed the members of the public who formed a crowd at the scene and communication is said to be out of order.

We tried to reach the officials from both the Raskamboni brigade and the Military from the federal government but that was not possible as telephone communication has been shut off.

Security in the area has been beefed up by the Federal army and Amisom Army from Kenya. This happened as a delegate consisting of internal security minister, minister of defense,minister of justice, members of parliament , and workers from the prime minister. The delegation from consisting of the prime minister is expected tomorrow.


Security operations conducted in Kismayu have resulted in detentions

Kismayu( Sh.M.Network) security operations have been conducted in some parts of the city of Kismayu, which is located in the lower region of Jubba.

During the operations, lot of people have been arrested following a blast that occurred in the region yesterday noon.

The explosion caused both injury and death casualties. The security operation was conducted by members of the Raskamboni Brigade, which jointly controls the city with Somali national army and those from Kenya.

During the raids, lot of people were arrested and some of them were believed to be behind the incident. Officials of the brigade accused the detained persons of being the mastermind of the explosion.

The spokesman of the brigade Abdi Nassir Seerar confirmed to Shabele media that many suspects have been arrested during the security raid and Mr Seerar claimed that the suspects in custody were behind the attack.

Kismayo, the third largest city in Somalia has suffered from such attacks since it fell in the hands of the combined forces of Amisom, Somali national army and the Ras kamboni.


AMISOM REQUESTS TO BE GIVEN THE GO AHEAD TO FIGHT IN SOME PARTS OF BAKOOL

Baladweyne (Sh.M.Network) Top officials of the Amisom troops have requested to be moved to hudur a town in Bakool region to fight out Shabab militia.

Deputy General Osman Nuur Subagle who had a media briefing said that the Amisom troops needed more operations in the region
Deputy General Osman Nuur said that the extra operation needed in the Bay and Bakool region was a move to fill the vacuum left by the Ethiopian troops who left the region.

The general pointed out the move was agreed and are planning for relocation of troops in the coming days in order to restore back the security the region used to have before the Ethiopian troops left.

Mr Osman emphasized on the importance of seizing back towns that fell in hands of the Militia after the departure of Ethiopian troops recently.

This briefing comes after the recent departure of Ethiopian troops recently.


ARMED MEN KILL A FEMALE JOURNALIST IN MOGADISHU

Mugodishu (sh.M.Network) armed men last night killed a female journalist in Mogadishu.

Rahmo Abdi, a journalist who works with Radio Caabud waaq based in Galgadud region, was last night short dead by unknown men.

Rahmo left Caabud Waaq a few days ago and had some business to do In Mogadishu before the incident happened.

Abdikariin Ahmed Bulhan who is the head of Caabud waaq radio confirmed the sad news when he contacted Shabbele media.

The shooting occurred last evening at Towfiiq suburbs which is located in yaagshid region.

This was the first female target to suffer such casualty but not the first journalist.

Such incidents have become norm in Mogadishu as journalists have fallen victims.
