War vets rally behind President

The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association and Zimbabwe National Liberation Supporters Association yesterday appealed to Zimbabweans to vote in their millions for President Mugabe in the harmonised elections scheduled for July 31.
War veterans chairman Cde Jabulani Sibanda said Zanu-PF policies are derived from the understanding of God.
Cde Sibanda appealed to Zimbabwean regardless of differences and language to vote for Zanu-PF.
“President Mugabe is a revolutionary proven beyond doubt. He has people at heart,” he said.
Cde Sibanda added that this election is not only a fight to defend our nationalism and natural resources but it is also a spiritual fight.
“MDC is advocating for a man to marry a man while a woman gets married to another woman,” said Cde Sibanda.
“MDC wants to take our country back to its colonisers when we have managed to get the land to the rightful owners.”
Cde Sibanda warned MDC youths who vowed to take up arms against Zanu-PF.
“We want a peaceful election. The MDC should not venture into an armed struggle, they should seek advice because we are not going to lose our country,” he said.
In a statement, Zimbabwe National Liberation Supporters Association president Mr Collins Chipare said President Mugabe dedicated his entire life to the struggle to liberate the country.
“President Mugabe’s track record is impeccable, he has taught us that only but ourselves are masters of our own destiny,” he said.
“Never again will we allow foreigners to take our land and all the mineral wealth beneath it for their own benefit.”
Mr Chipare urged Zimbabweans to rally behind President Mugabe and all rightfully deserving Zanu-PF candidates.
Zanu-PF Indigenous and Economic Empowerment director Mr Kurai Masenyama appealed to youths to vote for President Mugabe in their numbers.
“We are looking forward for youths to vote for the leaders who uphold their empowerment.
“President Mugabe is the only leader who is keen to advance progressive issues for the empowerment of youths,” he said.
Masenyama advised youths to heed President Mugabe’s call to desist from political violence.
