Bomb attack on micro-bus carrying CSF conscripts in Rafah comes only hours after car bomb in public square

Three Egyptian Central Security Forces (CSF) conscripts were injured in a blast early Sunday in the North Sinai border town of Rafah.

According to Reuters' Aswat Masriya website, unknown assailants planted explosives along the route of a micro-bus carrying the conscripts.

The attack took place in an area known as the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier, a tribute to Egyptian soldiers who have died in Rafah, 30 km south of Gaza.

Sources added that the explosion took place after the bus had already passed, accounting for only injuries and no fatalities.

Security forces are currently combing the area in search of the assailants.

The attack comes only hours after a car bomb detonated in the city's Al-Masoora Square early on Sunday morning. No casualties were reported from that blast either.
