Boosasso (RBC) The President of Somalia’s Semi-autonomous State of Puntland Abdiweli Mohamed Ali Gaas has declared war against the break away region of Somaliland after Somaliland forces seized Taleh town in Sool region two days ago, RBC Radio.

Speaking at a press conference in the region’s commercial hub Bosasso, President Gaas described Somaliland’s seizure against Taleh and other districts of the region as unacceptable and that his administration will respond.

“The attack by Somaliland forces on Taleh town and the killing of the people of the area and displacing them is unacceptable,” President Abdiweli Gaas, the former Prime Minister of Somalia Transitional Government announced.

He called the people of Puntland to resist against the aggression of Somaliland forces.

“The people should resist the attacks by Somaliland forces against their regions,” he added.

The call came after Somaliland forces seized on Thursday the town of Taleh in the Sool region where Khatumo administration was holding its third conference.

The conference was halted as the delegates attending the conference including elders, politicians and Members of Somalia Federal Parliament escaped from the town following the attack of Somaliland forces.
