Convener of the #BringBackOurGirls group, Oby Ezekwesili, yesterday said parents of the Chibok community have complained that the tragedies happening in North-East are underreported. She stated this after the special sit-out session with some parents of the abducted schoolgirls, in Abuja.

Ezekwesili said the parents lamented that since their meeting with the President, there remains no mechanism to update them on the status of the rescue effort and are deeply saddened that it has been 262 days since the abduction and their daughters are still nowhere to be found.

“Parents of Chibok say only about 10% of the tragedies befalling citizens in the North-East is reported,” she said.

The convener also appreciated Nigerians and friends of the #BBOG group abroad who have come out to support the Chibok parents at the Unity Fountain, describing it as “an emotional event”.
