Fidel is as lucid and wise as ever, Bolivian President Evo Morales noted, referring to the meeting he and Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro shared with the leader of the Cuban Revolution on August 13.

I felt immense joy and pride to be able to accompany our big brother on his 89th birthday, Morales said, explaining that they had met for five hours during which they discussed various aspects of the current international scenario.

Following the encounter, Morales participated in the donation of 50 laptops and educational material at the Plurinational State of Bolivia Primary School, in the municipality of Centro Habana. According to the President, this is the first primary school in the world to be named after the South American nation.

There he highlighted Fidel’s contribution to the revolutions across the continent.

The school’s Principal, Catherine Farías, said it was a privilege for the staff and students to receive the materials donated by the Bolivian government as this would raise the quality of education and enhance the study of computer science.

Also present during the act were Cuban Education Minister Ena Elsa Velásquez; Municipal Director of Education, Karenia Marrero; Bolivian Foreign Minister David Choquehuanca; Bolivian Ambassador to Cuba, Palmiro Leon Soria; among others
