The Shabaab deputy commander has been killed in an air strike in Nadaris camp by KDF jets.
This was in retaliation to the January 15 El Adde attack in which KDF soldiers were massacred.
Mahad Mohammed Karatey was al Shabaab’s deputy commander and overall head of the Almniyat – al Shabaab’s intelligence unit.
He was killed with 10 other middle-level commanders on February 8.
“Karatey had gone to the camp to preside over the passing out of an estimated 80 Almniyat recruits who were due to carry out terrorist attacks,” a KDF statement says.
