‘NFP’S AGREEMENT WITH ANC DOESN’T MEAN IT’S BEING DISSOLVED’
Both the ANC and the NFP say they will be united on who the vote goes to during tomorrow's polls.

DURBAN - The National Freedom Party (NFP) has assured its supporters that its new agreement with the African National Congress (ANC) does not mean the party is being dissolved.

Both parties say they will be united on who the vote goes to during tomorrow's polls and that this move has been supported by NFP President Zanele kaMagwaza Msibi.

However, both the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) and the Democratic Alliance (DA) have dismissed the new agreement, saying NFP branches have communicated different messages, and they too have been endorsed by the disqualified party.

There have been conflicting reports from branches of the NFP, DA and IFP who all claim that pronouncements of a new agreement with the ruling party in Kwazulu-Natal are false.

The DA’s Zwakele Mncwango says this confusion has been deliberate.

“Today, we had individuals who have their own financial interests on these decisions. Whatever it is, they know what argument they have.”

At today’s briefing, NFP members present said details of the new agreement will only be hashed out after the elections.
