Appeal Calls for Second Candlelit Resistance
The Central Committee of the Anti-imperialist National Democratic Front issued an appeal to the people on October 28 to mark the first anniversary of the massive anti-government protest action in south Korea which led to the impeachment of Park Geun Hye, according to website Kuguk Jonson.

October has come again but there has no significant change but the replacement of the owner of the Blue House, the ruling and opposition parties and ministers, the appeal said, adding that the public desire for new politics, new society and new life of justice remains far from coming true despite the passage of over a hundred days since the advent of the democratic and reformist regime that replaced the previous conservative one—with the help of the candlelit sentiment.

The precious fruits of the candlelit resistance are badly being violated by the current authorities, having serious impact on social progress, and the conservative evil force including Park Geun Hye’s cohorts is rearing its ugly head, it said. Such a situation is awakening the people and calling on them to raise candles again, it noted.

All the people are crying loudly for the continuation of the candlelit resistance, it said.

“Another round of candlelit rally has been launched with social reform, removal of evil legacies and peacemaking as the theme and in demand of a probe into the sunken Sewol disaster, a legal case against Lee Myung Bak and cancellation of Trump’s policy against the DPRK.

“Now is the time for all of us to be out for the campaign for creating new politics, new society and new life of justice.”

The appeal called for a broader participation in the second round of candlelit resistance to realize all the dreams.
