Letter to Chairman of Non-Aligned Movement
Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, sent a letter to President Nicolas Maduro Moros of Venezuela, chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement, on May 21 with regard to the bloody suppression committed by the Israeli occupying forces that caused thousands of casualties among the Palestinian demonstrators opposing the moving of the US embassy to Kuds.
The letter said:
We strongly condemn the brutal atrocities and indiscriminate violence of Israel upon the peaceful Palestinian demonstrators who demanded their legitimate rights.
I would like to hereby recall the Paragraph 289 in Chapter 2 of the Final Document of the 17th Summit of the NAM which underscores the need for efforts to achieve the goal of establishing the legitimate state of the Palestinian people, including their inalienable right to self-determination and freedom to build the independent State of Palestine with East Kuds as its capital.
In accordance with the above Final Document I feel the urgent need for the action of the NAM to condemn the bloody suppression and atrocities of Israel and express support to and solidarity with the just cause of the Palestinian people to achieve their inalienable legitimate rights, including the building of the independent State of Palestine with East Kuds as its capital.
Availing myself of this opportunity, I would like to reaffirm the principled position of the DPRK to strengthen close cooperation with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and all other member states of the NAM in adhering to the principles and purposes of the NAM and enhancing its role.
The letter was distributed to the member states of the NAM.
