A seminar was held in Sofia on November 24 under the joint sponsorship of the Bulgarian Group for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and the Bulgaria-Korea Friendship Association to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Bulgaria.
Present there were figures of various political parties, organizations and institutions of Bulgaria. Speeches titled "70-year history of the relations between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Republic of Bulgaria", "Self-supporting national economy" and "New proposal of the DPRK for peace" were made.
Speakers congratulated the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and said that new generations should develop the good traditions of the friendship and cooperation provided amidst the support and solidarity of the peoples of the two countries.
They said that the Korean people firmly defended socialism despite the worsening sanctions of the hostile forces to stifle the DPRK. They noted that the Korean people were convinced of the justice of their cause rather than giving in to imperialism and held higher the banner of independence.
They praised the DPRK for having recently worked astonishing miracles in economic construction and improving the people's standard of living and achieved successes in inter-Korean relations as well as external relations.
They noted that a country, small in territory and population, stands in the centre of the international arena as it holds in the highest esteem the great men such as President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.
They expressed conviction that the Korean people rallied close around Kim Jong Un would surely win a brilliant victory in building socialism and accomplishing national reunification.
A congratulatory message to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the seminar.
A reception was given at the DPRK embassy in Sofia on November 28 on the same anniversary.
