Libyan Government Condemns Attacks on Civilians in Tripoli Clashes
Tripoli, May 29 (Prensa Latina) The Libyan Interior Ministry on Wednesday condemned the inhuman assaults against civilians and their houses by the Marshal Khalifa Haftar forces, and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The Ministry reported in a statement the artillery shelling of Salah Eddine district in southern Tripoli, leaving behind significant human and material damage, including hospitals and homes of at least four families.

The Ministry also urged all residents who endured damage to their property, or those who lost their loved ones or had some of them injured by Haftar's attacks to inform to the nearest police station, which will assess the damage and inform the concerned authorities.

On Monday, Haftar forces targeted civilian houses in Salah Eddine, in southern Tripoli, with indiscriminate shelling until very late hours, according to the media office of Presidential Council (PC).

The armed conflict in Tripoli began on April 4 when the so-called Libyan National Army, under the command of Khalifa Haftar, ordered its forces to march on Tripoli; since then strong clashes have taken place in different southern Tripoli areas.

According to the World Health Organization, about 562 people were killed so far-160 of them were civilians- and more than 2,855 were wounded, as well as another 80,000 people displaced since the war broke out.
