Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez described U.S. President Donald Trump and “mini-Trump” Bolsonoaro as “two increasingly isolated pathological liars, after hearing their speeches delivered yesterday in the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

With the hashtag #SomosCuba, a call for and symbol of national unity, the Cuban President posted a series of messages noting that Trump’s references to Cuba and Venezuela were “lies, slanders, and inadmissible accusations.”

Trump labeled Venezuela’s elected President Nicolás Maduro “a puppet of Cuba,” and accused Havana of plundering the country oil resources.

From New York, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez tweeted, “Cuba energetically rejects Bolsonaro’s slander of our international medical cooperation… He should take care of the corruption in his justice system, his government, and family. He is the leader of increasing inequality in Brazil.”
