African Continent Nears 4.1 Million Confirmed Cases of Covid-19

As of March 21, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached   4,095,576 while over5,599,955 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.

Reported deaths in Africa reached  109,674 and  3,673,287 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases -   1,536,801 - and   52,082 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco (  491,463 ), Tunisia (  245,405 ), Egypt (  194,771 ), Ethiopia (  185,641 ), and Nigeria (  161,651 ).

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health departments.
