Detroit Delegation to Attend Appeals Hearing for Rev. Pinkney

Friends,

There are still seats available on the Detroit bus to Grand
Rapids to support Rev. Pinkney's appeal. You can also contact the
Judicial Tenure Commission to express your outrage that Benton Harbor Judge Wiley ignored a Supreme Court order in Rev. Pinkney's case.

The bus leaves Tuesday, June 9 at 6:30 AM (gather at 6 AM) from the large parking lot on the southeast corner of Temple Street and Third Street near downtown Detroit. Free secure parking is available. See below.

*Need a ride to Pinkney's Tues. June 9 (next week) hearing, the first
ever outside of Berrien County?*
Michigan Welfare Rights Org. is organizing a bus to Grand Rapids for Pinkney's court date on 6/9.

There are several spaces still available. The bus from Detroit can make a stop in Ann Arbor--perhaps at the park 'n' ride on Ann Arbor/Saline and I-94. Bus seats are $30/each. [if you live in another town, it's worth calling to find out if you could hop on somewhere en route]

Please let MWRO know as soon as possible! Call Maureen or Fred: MWRO office, 313-964-0618

If a regular citizen failed to comply with an order from
the Michigan Supreme Court, they would be arrested.

Rev. Pinkney is asking people to take a minute to ask for
the removal of Judge Dennis Wiley for ignoring the April 22
Supreme Court order to "articulate the reasons" for keeping
Pinkney under 24/7 house arrest with electronic tether.

*Please mention that the complaint you are referring to is #09-18209. *
(Basically, you are supporting this complaint, filed by Rev. Pinkney.)

Simply call, email or write the Judicial Tenure Commission and
the Supreme Court asking for Wiley's removal. Reason: contempt
of court; defying court order, etc. He had 21 days to comply, and
did nothing.
