TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad underlined Iran's resolve to boost cooperation with Africa, and voiced Tehran's preparedness to host a summit of the African Union's heads of state.
"We are ready to welcome our brothers and sisters for an African Union (AU) summit in Tehran," Ahmadinejad said, addressing the opening session of Iran-Africa Forum here in Tehran on Tuesday.
"We have the honor to declare that we are ready to share all our experiences and power with Africa to build the future," the president stressed.
High-ranking officials from different African states have gathered in Tehran to discuss ways to boost cooperation between Iran and the African continent in the 'Iran-Africa Forum'.
Government and private sector officials from more than 40 African states are present at the two-day conference which began today.
African ministers of foreign affairs, industries, health and education have also participated in the meeting to discuss ways of expanding mutual cooperation and ties.
Elsewhere, President Ahmadinejad underlined that cooperation between Iran and African states could lower tensions, remove injustice and establish durable peace and security in the region.
"We can create vast opportunities for cooperation, co-working, assistance and effectiveness by preparing the infrastructures and institutionalizing relations," Ahmadinejad went of saying.
He further expressed the hope that the Iran-Africa Forum would devise the necessary mechanism for all-out, deep and permanent ties and pave the way for increased familiarity between Iran and the African states.
During the two-day conference in Tehran, four working committees, namely the "health and medicate,' "industries and mines", "politics" and "trade and economic relations" will hold separate panel discussions on issues relevant to the field of their mission.
Participants will also discuss Iran's cooperation with African states in the fields of technical and engineering exports, raising commercial transactions and contribution to African development.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast had earlier said that conference and other relevant meetings between Iran and African states would be a prelude to an AU summit in Tehran in the future.
Ahmadinejad's administration has striven hard to maximize relations with the African continent.
Tehran has prioritized promotion of its economic and political ties with the African states and the country is now considered as one of the African Union's strategic partners.
Tehran's efforts to boost ties and cooperation with Africa have led to its acceptance as an observing member of the African Union (AU), where it has shown an active presence in the AU summit meetings.
Ahmadinejad Calls for Extensive Cooperation between Iran, Africa
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad discussed possible ways to boost Iran-Africa ties in separate meetings with high-ranking African officials here in Tehran on Tuesday.
A statement released by the presidential office for media affairs said that President Ahmadinejad held separate meetings with the Speaker of National Assembly of Cote d'Ivoire, Former President of Mali, Secretary-General of the East-African Community, ministers of foreign affairs of Somalia, Burkina Faso, Sudan and Togo as well as Comorian minister of economy here in Tehran today to explore avenues for the further expansion of ties and cooperation between Iran and the African continent.
During the meetings held on the sidelines of the 'Iran-Africa Forum' which kicked off here in Tehran on Tuesday, the Iranian president and the African officials discussed ways to boost ties and cooperation not only at the bilateral, but also at the regional levels.
"Extensive and deep cooperation between Iran and Africa will change global relations and regional equations," President Ahmadinejad stressed.
He also stated that there are abundant capacities and grounds for a further growth in the Iran-Africa ties, and added, "The Islamic Republic of Iran is resolved to use its maximum capacity to expand ties with the African countries."
The African officials, too, underlined the necessity of convergence and all-out expansion of cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Africa, and called for increasing growth in the two sides' relations in all the various fields.

Malawi President Expects Remarkable Growth in Iran-Africa Ties
TEHRAN (FNA)- Malawian President Bingu wa Mutharika said that the relations between Iran and Africa will experience an astonishing change and improvement in the next five years.
"The relations between Iran and Africa will grow remarkably in the next five years and many Iranians are due to establish a large number of industries in Africa," Mutharika said on Tuesday.
He made the remarks addressing an international conference here in Tehran dubbed 'Iran-Africa Forum'.
Mutharika also pointed to Africa's huge natural resources which can attract investors from Iran and other countries, and said the main challenge in the black continent is not poverty but the main problem is that people do not know how to make use of their rich resources and capacities.
Mutharika, whose country currently holds the rotating presidency of the African Union, urged the Islamic Republic of Iran and the African countries to take effective steps towards the development of industries in Africa by expanding their cooperation.

Envoy Demands Transfer of Iran's Experiences to Africa
TEHRAN (FNA)- African countries are keen to use Iran's experiences in different fields due to Tehran's astonishing development and progresses in various scientific, technological and industrial areas, South African ambassador to Iran said on Tuesday.
Speaking to FNA, Ebrahim Mohammad Sali pointed to the different potentials and capacities existing in Iran, and said, "These potentials can be exploited in Africa, specially in hygiene and production fields, and Iran can also transfer its experiences in other various fields to the African states."
Sali also reiterated that any initiative for increasing proximity between the Iranian and African people can be fruitful and will lead to the reinvigoration of relations between the two sides.
The South African diplomat called for increasing reciprocal visits by African and Iranian officials in a bid to get acquainted with each other's capacities and potentials.
"These visits are effective in strengthening relations and consolidating ties and cooperation between Iran and the African states," Sali added.

Iranian, Senegalese Presidents Stress Expansion of Cooperation
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Senegalese counterpart Abdoulaye Wade in a meeting in Tehran underlined development of relations and cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, the two presidents underscored the necessity for using the existing capacities in Iran and Senegal to bolster bilateral ties as well as mutual and international cooperation between Tehran and Dakar.
"Using all the existing potentials in the two countries for the promotion of multilateral cooperation is profitable to both nations and the region," Ahmadinejad said.
Wade, who has traveled to Iran to attend a conference dubbed 'Iran-Africa Forum', called for the further consolidation of relations with Iran, and said, "Senegal attaches special importance to its relations with Iran and believes these ties are profitable to the world Muslims, and specially Africa."
