US-backed Somali government forces bases in kismayu come under attacks
Kismayu (RBC) string of attacks have targeted on late Wednesday on government and allied forces bases in southern Somalia’s port city of Kismayu. Officials said.
The attacks happened around 1:00pm local time when gunmen attacked all Somali army positions in the city with rocks and grenades as residents in workers’ village very close to the attacked areas confirmed to Raxanreeb.
Al-shabab rebels have claimed the responsibility of the overnight attacks. No casualties were reported.
The spokesman for Raskanbone militias Abdinasir Seeral told Raxanreeb by phone that Al-shabab rebels have attacked with grenades and mortar shells on several army positions in the city overnight but he dismissed an casualties.
The spokesman blamed Al-shabab of being behind for the attacks, but declined to comment about the exact figures on the casualties.
Mean while Al-shabab rebels have claimed that they killed three Kenyan soldiers following in ambush attack on Tuesday in Kulbiyow residence.
Sheikh Hudeyfi, Al-shabab’s officer in charge for Jubba regions said they have killed three Kenyan soldiers and destroyed number of military trucks speaking to rebel run Radio Andalus.
Kenyan defense forces did not comment on the fighting occurred in Kulbiyow on Tuesday that Al-shabab claimed three Kenya soldiers were killed in the fighting.
