Listen to this week's edition of the Pan-African Journal, hosted by Abayomi Azikiwe, editor of the Pan-African News Wire. This week's edition features an extensive report on the recent developments in the North African states of Egypt and Tunisia.

In Tunisia, a general strike erupted on February 8 in response to the assassination of Chokri Belaid, an opposition leader and fierce critic of the current government in Tunis. Belaid was killed on February 6 and his death is being blamed on the Ennahda-dominated government which won the largest bloc of votes in the post-uprising elections of 2011.

Also demonstrations have continued in Egypt with calls for the government of President Mohamed Morsi to step down. Egypt is undergoing an economic downturn due to the ongoing political turmoil inside the country.

The French and NATO war against Mali is creating greater destabilization and dislocation inside this West African state. The French government has already admitted to killing hundreds of people in their general bombardments of the mineral-rich country.

Finally, the International Criminal Court (ICC) has ordered the transferral of former Libyan intelligence director, Abdullah al-Senussi, to The Hague to stand trial over allegations of crimes against humanity. Al-Senussi is currently being held by the U.S.-installed rebel regime in Tripoli.

This program concludes with a tribute to Mrs. Rosa L. Parks on the centenary of her birth. Parks is considered the mother of the modern civil rights movement beginning in 1955.
