TEHRAN, (SANA)- Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, stressed that his country stands by Syria in the face of the war waged against it, asserting that no solution to the crisis in Syria but by stopping violence and holding national dialogue based on the political program set by President Bashar al-Assad.

President Ahmadinejad made the remarks in a meeting with Deputy Premier, Foreign and Espatriates Minister, Walid al-Moallem, in Tehran on Saturday, asserting that Syria will overcome the crisis due to the wisdom of its leadership and its people's rally around it.

The Iranian President said "Iran stands by Syria in the face of the global war waged against it as Syria's steadfastness and its army and people's rally around its leadership have forced all to recognize the fact that no solution to the crisis in Syria unless stopping dialogue and holding national dialogue."

He added that the political program outlined by President al-Assad is "good and positive".

For his part, Minister al-Moallem briefed the Iranian President on the latest development in Syria and the dimensions of the conspiracy which aimed at destroying its infrastructure and power through the entrance of terrorists from regional and international countries that are belonging to Jabhat al-Nusra and other armed terrorist groups after training, financing and arming them for committing terrorist acts against the citizens, the armed forces and the public and private properties in Syria.

Al-Moallem reiterated the need to halt violence and drying its resources through putting pressures on the countries which are sponsoring it in order to create a climate of security and stability to make the dialogue a success without foreign interference.

Meanwhile, al-Moallem briefed Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Saeed Jalili, on the current situation in Syria.

Jalili underlined necessity of continuing consultations and coordination between the two countries, voicing confidence that Syria will overcome the crisis.
