Israeli soldiers have shot and wounded another Palestinian in the Gaza Strip, violating the terms of a truce deal with Hamas that brought an eight-day war to an end.

The young man was injured on Friday after Israeli forces opened fire at a group of Palestinians in a farm in the northern town of Jabalia.

Medics say the victim, who is in his early twenties, was shot in the chest and is in critical condition.

Israeli has violated an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire with Hamas, the democratically-elected government of Gaza, on several occasions since it came into effect in November 2012.

Last week, at least six Palestinians were injured by Israeli gunfire in Gaza.

Over 160 Palestinians, including women and children, were killed and about 1,200 others were injured in the Israeli attacks on Gaza between November 14 and 21 and more than 1,500 targets were hit across the Palestinian enclave.

In retaliation, Palestinian resistance fighters fired rockets and missiles into Israeli cities, killing at least five Israelis.

According to a Hamas spokesman, Israel's eight-day aggression against the Gaza Strip caused more than USD1.2 billion in direct and indirect damages.
