This week's Pan-African Journal hosted by Abayomi Azikiwe, editor of the Pan-African News Wire, focused on the national elections for a draft constitution in the Republic of Zimbabwe.

Also there was a segment on the bank-led racist and fascist policies against the city of Detroit which has resulted in the appointment of a so-called "emergency financial manager" to run the United States' largest African American populated municipality.

In the Southern African nation of Zimbabwe the people are voting on a national referendum to institute a new constitution. Monitors from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) are in the country to observe the elections.

There have been mass demonstrations and a rebellion in the Brooklyn section of New York City. The outbreak of unrest was sparked by the police killing of 16-year-old Kimani Gray.

Chase Bank has come under scrutiny by the U.S. Senate for engaging in risky financial speculation. The U.S. banking system overall is responsible for destruction of the housing industry through millions of illegal
foreclosures and is now driving countless numbers of municipalities into financial ruin.

Finally, in the North African state of Libya where a U.S. and NATO war overthrew the government of Col. Muammar Gaddafi, Christians are being persecuted by the counter-revolutionary rebels now running the country. The so-called General National Congress has been paralyzed due to rebel actions.
