Somalia: Amisom Denies Replacing Kenyan Troops With Sierra Leone Troops

The spokesman of the AMISOM troops colonel Ali Adan Xumud as he contacted Shabelle media network denied reports that the Kenyan troops in Kismayu will be replaced by the new troops who were to arrive from Sierra Leone early this week.
The spokesman confirmed that the Kenyan troops will stay and the will be a head count to confirm the number of troops who are based in Somalia.
Mr. Ali said that it was the first time troops from Sierra Leone were deployed at Kismayu and they will start their mission on the lower Juba region to liberate areas occupied by Alshabab militia.
Sierra Leone will be the latest country to send its troops to Somalia following the deployment of troops from different countries in Africa to Somalia.
