KCNA on Root Cause of Grave Situation in Korea

KCNA Commentary Urges U.S. to Properly Understand Root Cause of Grave Situation in Korea

Pyongyang, April 17 (KCNA) -- The U.S. is becoming craftier in its moves to stifle the DPRK.

Having rapidly deployed huge armed forces for aggression on the Korean Peninsula and in its vicinity and rounded off the preparations for attack through Foal Eagle joint military exercises, the U.S. is now pretending to be interested in detente in a bid to mislead the public opinion.

Its high-ranking officials vied with each other to assert that "the U.S. keeps the door of dialogue with north Korea open," while disclosing before media that "planned military actions have been shelved" and "military-related meetings put off."

This is another poor charade to conceal its criminal nature as the arch criminal who created a touch-and-go situation on the peninsula. It is a product of base intrigues to shift the blame for tension on to the DPRK and invent a pretext for igniting a war.
What matters is that those following the U.S. are dancing to the tune of its farce.

As shown by history, truth cannot be voted down by a hand-raising machine.
If one truly wants to defuse the tension on the peninsula, one should properly understand its root cause.

The worst situation on the peninsula is entirely attributable to the U.S. vicious policy and hostile acts against the DPRK. It is pursuant to the U.S. sinister scenario to stifle the DPRK at the early stage of its historical turn.

To this end the U.S. stirred up an atmosphere of confrontation, terming the DPRK's legitimate satellite launch for peaceful purposes "a ballistic missile launch".
It kicked up much fuss over "provocation" though the DPRK's successful satellite launch was scientifically confirmed by the U.S. Space Command and academic circles.

When the DPRK conducted a nuclear test for self-defence to cope with the U.S. brigandish actions, it prodded the UN Security Council into cooking up "resolutions on sanctions" by using its hand-raising machine inside it. It staged Key Resolve and Foal Eagle war maneuvers, pushing the situation to the brink of war.

Much upset by the DPRK's declaration of an all-out action to put an end to the showdown with the U.S., nullification of the Armistice Agreement and a series of other toughest measures taken by it, the U.S. began to hatch new plots. This is evidenced by the "demonstration of armed forces against north" under the motto of provision of "nuclear umbrella" and diplomacy for international "pressure" under the pretext of so-called implementation of the UN "resolutions on sanctions".

In pursuance of its scenario, the U.S. is egging the Japanese reactionaries and south Korean puppet forces on to commit all provocations and smear campaigns extremely rattling the nerves of the DPRK.

Unlike frantic provocations of south Korean stooges the U.S. is busy orchestrating a charade to create an "atmosphere of dialogue" and meetings for "close touch and joint reaction" with neighboring counties in a bid to convince the international community of "belligerency" of the DPRK.

The U.S. is, however, seriously mistaken. With no rhetoric can it evade the blame for the grave situation on the peninsula.

This only goes to prove that the U.S. remains unchanged in its policy for stifling the DPRK and its scenario for a new war is being pushed forward at its final phase.

This is clear from the fact that the U.S. is playing a petty trick to slacken the alertness of the DPRK while talking about "peaceful atmosphere in Pyongyang", and taking much pain to spy on the intention of the DPRK while vociferating about someone's "propaganda warfare" and "psychological warfare". This will, however, no longer work on the DPRK.

As long as the U.S. hostile policy persists, peace and stability will not settle on the peninsula but will be put at greater peril and this will compel the DPRK to take tougher countermeasures.

The only way of settling the situation there is for the U.S. to roll back its hostile policy.
The U.S. would be well advised to bear in mind that it can never evade the blame for the grave situation prevailing on the Korean Peninsula.

Rodong Sinmun Calls for Defending Dignity of Supreme Leadership

Pyongyang, April 17 (KCNA) -- Now the Korean people and the world progressive mankind are significantly celebrating the 101st birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung as the greatest national holiday and auspicious event common to the nation.

However, only the south Korean puppet forces perpetrated such hideous atrocities as instigating a group of anti-communist gangsters to hold an anti-DPRK meeting in the center of Seoul in broad daylight and hurt the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK.

The Supreme Command of the Korean People's Army issued an ultimatum to the south Korean puppet group as regards the prevailing acute situation, warning that it will wipe out to the last man those who hurt the dignity of the DPRK's supreme leadership.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday editorially calls on all service personnel and people to turn out as one in the sacred war for protecting the dignity of the supreme leadership of the country as was stated in the ultimatum.

Hurting and slandering the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK amounts to negating the Korean nation, and an outrageous treason of mangling the hearts of its service persons and people, the editorial says, and goes on:

The south Korean puppet forces' another atrocity beyond imagination was prompted by their dangerous scenario to weaken the reverence of all Koreans for the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu and break the mainstay of the army and people in the DPRK.

It is the firm will of the army and people of the DPRK to make thousand-fold retaliation against the enemies at any cost wherever they might be.

The world will clearly see how all service personnel and people of the DPRK uphold and protect the dignity of its supreme leadership in the present all-out confrontation with the U.S.

Rodong Sinmun Condemns S. Korean Puppet Group for Hurting Dignity of DPRK Supreme Leadership

Pyongyang, April 17 (KCNA) -- The south Korean puppet group committed a thrice-cursed hideous crime of holding an anti-DPRK rally in downtown Seoul and dare torching portraits of great men symbolic of the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK, not content with viciously slandering the celebrations held in the DPRK to mark the Day of the Sun.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says in a bylined commentary in this regard:

It is none other than the south Korean puppet group of hooligans who are bereft of the elementary etiquette and morality, to say nothing of the nation's pride and self-esteem.

The puppet group let loose a spate of vituperation against the celebrations of the Day of the Sun and mobilized gangsters to hurt the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK in the center of Seoul. This is an open declaration of a war against the DPRK.

Their recent act has almost triggered off a nuclear war.

No one can turn back to the present situation on the Korean Peninsula that has already crossed the threshold of a war.

To be included in the targets of retaliation are Seoul, the hotbed of politically-motivated provocation, those directly or indirectly involved in the operation of hurting the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK and the puppet authorities and their bosses who instigated the perpetrators and connived at their crime. They are already destined to meet punishment.
We can never live with the puppet group under the same sky.

The army and the people of the DPRK will wipe out the group of traitors who committed the thrice-cursed unpardonable crime and give vent to their pent-up grudge through powerful retaliation action without notice and immediate start of just military operation.

Rodong Sinmun Accuses U.S. of Shipping Nuclear War Hardware into S. Korea

Pyongyang, April 17 (KCNA) -- The U.S. recently deployed two super-large nuclear-powered carriers to the waters near the Korean Peninsula in secrecy. Timed to coincide with this, it rapidly dispatched there a nuclear submarine and more than 2 000 seamen of the U.S. Marines.

The U.S. is getting frantic in its war maneuvers to invade the north by introducing the largest-ever nuclear war hardware into south Korea and its vicinity. The ulterior aim sought by it is to provoke a nuclear war against the DPRK.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says in a bylined commentary in this regard:

The U.S. and its satellite forces have become all the more provocative in their acts, while branding the measures taken by the DPRK for its self-defence as an "pressure" and "provocation".

The present grave situation prevailing on the Korean Peninsula is entirely ascribable to the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK. It is as clear as noonday that the U.S. and its allies are entirely to blame for this.

A nuclear war may break out any moment on the peninsula due to the reckless saber-rattling of the U.S., bringing the dark clouds of a nuclear war.

The DPRK is by no means afraid of a war though it does not want it.

The U.S. is trying to provoke the DPRK by introducing its huge nuclear force. But it is a foolish pipedream.

The DPRK is fully ready to honorably conclude the long-standing showdown with the U.S. by meeting the latter's military challenges.

As the DPRK repeatedly stated to the world, it makes no empty words.

The U.S. had better behave itself, bearing this in mind.

Kim Il Sung Praised by Foreign Papers

Pyongyang, April 17 (KCNA) -- Foreign newspapers devoted special write-ups illustrated with a portrait of smiling President Kim Il Sung to his birth anniversary (the Day of the Sun).

The Mar. 31-Apr. 14 issue of the Bulgarian paper Zaraba dedicated a whole page to an article titled "A great master of the 20th century" and other articles under the headline "101st birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung".

The article titled "Life guided by the maxim of believing in people as in Heaven" said:

Kim Il Sung believed in the people as in Heaven and always found himself among them, reflecting their wishes and aspirations in policies.

His life was characterized by ardent love and total dedication to the people.

He is always alive in the hearts of progressive mankind as tender-hearted father and great leader of the people.

The Malaysian Guang Ming Daily on April 5 carried an article captioned "Great H.E. Kim Il Sung, eternal leader of Korean people" illustrated with photos of his old home in Mangyongdae and Kimilsungia, flower of the sun.

The article said:
There were many people who left traces in the history of world politics in the 20th century, but no one enjoyed so absolute support and trust from the people as the President did for his outstanding idea, leadership and noble personality from his teenage to the advanced age of 80.

The 20th century was, in fact, the President's century.

He was a great statesman who carved out and glorified a new modern history under the banner of independence.

He was a peerlessly great man in history.
Natun Bangla of Bangladesh on April 1 and Horoya of Guinea on April 4 carried articles titled "Kim Il Sung, holding high the banner of independence" and "The Day of the Sun in the DPRK".

Greetings to President of Zimbabwe

Pyongyang, April 17 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, on April 12 sent a message to Robert G. Mugabe, president of Zimbabwe, congratulating him on the 33rd anniversary of the republic.

The message expressed belief that the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would grow stronger, wishing the president and people of Zimbabwe successes in their efforts to protect the country's sovereignty and achieve national unity and socio-economic progress.
