Libya Probes Oil Pipeline Explosion

Libya is investigating the causes of an explosion at a pipeline in the eastern part of the country, the country's National Oil Co. said Wednesday.
The blast took place late Tuesday at the Zueitina pipeline, which transports oil from Austria's OMV AG and the U.S.'s Occidental Petroleum Corp. (OXY).
In a statement posted on its website, NOC quoted acting Chairman Abdulkasir Shengir as saying there were no casualties. Oil facilities in Libya are frequently disrupted by locals seeking better working conditions and oil-revenue redistribution. Though they are rarely sabotaged, there are fears that Islamic radicals could target them.
