There have been demonstrations in northern Mali against the French occupation forces. Thousands of youth protested in the city of Gao in opposition to the political intrigue of Paris which still has nearly 4,000 troops inside the West African state.

For the second straight day thousands of people have taken to the streets in the NATO country of Turkey. The demonstrations were sparked by the closure of a public park for private corporate usage.

There have been more statements related to the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Organization of African Union (OAU), the predecessor of the African Union (AU) which just concluded its 21st summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Statements have been published by the African National Congress (ANC) of South Africa and the Zimbabwe Herald newspaper.

Finally, the Northwest African state of Mauritania has paid a dear price for the U.S.-NATO war against Libya. The country has been under pressure to go along with the imperialists in the region.
