THE Zanu PF Politburo will meet tomorrow to finalise the rules and regulations for the conduct of primary elections and the party’s manifesto ahead of the harmonised elections among various issues that are set to come up for discussion.

Zanu PF spokesperson Cde Rugare Gumbo confirmed that the revolutionary party’s supreme decision making body outside congress would meet tomorrow.

“The Politburo will meet tomorrow to finalise the rules and regulations for primary elections and also to finalise on the manifesto. People will have a look at it and also furnish us with their input on it,” Cde Gumbo said.

The finalisation of the rules and regulations were postponed at the last meeting after the Women’s League requested to have a quota of seats reserved for them in the polls.

The matter was then referred for further discussion between the Legal Committee and the Women’s League.

He added that other issues that were likely to come up for discussion included a report by national Chairman Cde Simon Khaya Moyo on the team he led to assess the party’s structures in various provinces.

“We will also get a report from Cde Patrick Chinamasa on the progress made so far in aligning the electoral laws with the new constitution and in that context we may also discuss the extraordinary Sadc Summit that was postponed,” he said.

The Zanu PF spokesperson added that Secretary for the Commissariat Cde Webster Shamu would also present another report on the mass mobilisation exercise that the party embarked on to attract new members ahead of the elections.
