After urging members and supporters of the ANCYL, who packed the Seshego Stadium in Polokwane on Sunday, to ensure that the ANCYL wins the 2014 general elections, President Jacob Zuma burst into struggle songs.

He got the crowd going with excitement when he turned and danced to his favourite struggle era piece, “Mshini wami”.

But when the 69th birthday cake was brought to the stage, the tune, led by Afro-jazz sensation Zahara changed to “Happy birthday to you”.

Msholozi stood for a while, then joined Zahara in a dance.

Spotting the ANCYL T-shirt, the singer of “Uloliwe” drove the crowd, mostly young, including children, into a frenzy of excitement.

At some stage Zahara and Msholozi held hands as they did mixtures of toyi-toyi and Afro-jazz in their dance moves. The spectators were in stitches.

But the huge birthday cake was not cut and eaten as the comrades agreed unanimously to donate it to a nearby orphanage.
