Abayomi Azikiwe granted an extended interview with Bernard White, veteran broadcast journalist and producer, over CPRMetro.org based in New York City. The topic of discussion was the ongoing struggle in Detroit against the imposition of bankruptcy by the racist Gov. Rick Snyder and his appointee Kevyn Orr, both of whom are agents of the transnational corporations and the banks which have looted the city of Detroit for decades.

Azikiwe gave an update on the current fight against the proposed theft of pensions, city assets and jobs being perpetuated under the guise of an economic crisis. The banks and corporations are of course at the root of the crisis.

The program reviewed developments over the last few weeks where a trial to pay off an illegal swap deal with Bank of America Merrill Lynch and UBS ended in failure for the emergency manager Orr and the Gov. Snyder. Federal Judge Steven Rhodes denied the plan to pay these two criminal entities at least $165 million.

Azikiwe noted that the struggle in Detroit was representative of the plight of the cities throughout the United States. The outcome of development in Detroit will portend much for the rest of the country.
