In this week's Pan-African Journal we are continuing our tribute in
honor of the 46th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr. The Civil Rights and Human Rights leader was gunned
down in a United States government conspiracy to silence his rising
influence both inside the country and internationally.

Other issues covered in this edition is the politics surrounding the
upcoming national presidential elections in the Republic of South
Africa. A high court ruling on April 4 struck down the suspension of
the secretary general of the Congress of South African Trade Unions
(COSATU), Zwelinzima Vavi.

The Pan-African News Wire has been covering the upcoming elections.
The political struggle inside the trade union movement is a factor in
the electoral strategy of the ruling African National Congress (ANC).

A number of trade unions have stated that they will not support the
ANC's re-election however, national polls indicate that the party may
win by an even larger margin than in 2009. President Jacob Zuma is
seeking his second term in office.
