Nigeria's Chibok Abductions: Women in Ogun State Protest
Nigerian women demonstrate against the failure of government to rescue their
girls who were abducted by Boko Haram in the north.
In their hundreds, women in Ogun State, southwestern Nigeria protest against the abduction of more than two hundred Chibok girls by suspected Boko Haram members in Borno State.

Dressed in black outfits with placards reading different inscriptions, the women accused the federal government of not doing enough on its rescue mission.

They also condemned the high rate of insecurity in the country, noting that the second Nyayan bombing was a slap on the face of the federal government.

Led by the wife of the Ogun State governor, Olufunso AMosun and the wife of the former Nigerian President, Bola Obasanjo, the women matched across major streets in Ogun State capital before moving to the state house of assembly to express their displeasure and submit their protest letter.

While presenting their letter to the state governor in his office, the women accused the federal government of dragging its foot on the matter, urging the state governor to help them submit their protest letter to the President.

Responding, the state governor, Ibikunle Amosun appealed to the women to be calm and assured them of urgent action on the matter, noting that children are the leaders of tomorrow.
