COPE Members Rejoining the ANC in South Africa
30 April 2014
The African National Congress welcomes the mass exodus from Cope as we approach the national elections on the 7th May The resignation of the 80% of the Cope Caucus is reflective of the malaise that beset Cope from inception and it`s failure to practice democracy thus relying on courts to determine its leadership.
The ANC welcomes the former Cope members who will be campaigning for the movement as this is their natural political home. We believe that by campaigning for the ANC they will help in ensuring that we receive the overwhelming majority that will assist us to advance our commitment of total emancipation of our people.
The ANC calls on those who are still remaining in Cope to abandon the sinking ship that has been characterized by lack of leadership, vision and commitment to democracy. By remaining in Cope they can only sacrifice their conscience and track record of being champions for democracy and servitude to our people.
We call on all South Africans to follow the lead of most of these Cope members who have rejoined the ANC, to vote ANC on the 7th May as we are the only organisation with the track record, capacity, commitment and necessary credentials to help move South Africa forward.
