In a study of the state-funded BBC television news coverage, the Glasgow Media Group documented differences in the language used by journalists for Israelis and Palestinians.

The study found that terms such as "atrocity," "brutal murder," "mass murder," "savage cold blooded killing," "lynching" and "slaughter" were used describe the death of Israelis but not for the death of Palestinians.

Recently, Palestine Solidarity Campaign sent an open letter to the UK’s BBC, which along with a host of other Western and Arab media outlets have been accused of biased reporting on the war on Gaza.

“When you portray the occupier as the victim, and the occupied as the aggressor, we would like to remind you that resistance to occupation is a right under international law, and we would like you to remember that Israel’s occupation, siege and collective punishment of Gaza is not,” the letter read.

Israel has been attacking targets across the Gaza Strip since July 8.

Meanwhile, in retaliation for Israel’s onslaught in Gaza, Palestinian resistance movement Hamas targeted Israeli cities with rockets.
