Press TV has conducted an interview with Abayomi Azikiwe, an editor at Pan-African News Wire from Detroit, and Sabri Malek, a spokesperson for Libya’s Democratic Party from London, to discuss the origin of the current turmoil plaguing Libya and its consequences for neighboring states and even Europe.

Azikiwe believes that the NATO countries are behind the chaos in Libya, adding that the Western states want to use the presence of the ISIL Takfiris on the Libyan soil as an excuse to justify a potential military intervention into the oil-rich African country.

Malek, however, blamed Egypt for the crisis in neighboring Libya, saying Cairo has been seeking to get access to the Libyan resources since its independence in 1951.

Egypt is now attempting to achieve its own goals by pushing Libya towards more turbulence, said Malek, adding that terrorism and the existence of ISIL extremists are not the true reasons behind the new spate of violence in the North African country.
