Egypt, French FMs Exchange Condolences Over Disappeared EgyptAir Plane

A joint search by the Egyptian army and Greek ships is underway for 56 passengers and 10 crew members on-board an Airbus 320 which went off the radar en route to Cairo from Paris

Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his French counterpart Jean-Marc Ayrault exchanged condolences over 66 passengers who were on the EgyptAir flight MS804 which suddenly went missing in the early hours of Thursday, an official statement by the Egyptian foreign ministry read.

The two sides expressed the importance of closely cooperating in the coming period to determine "the causes of the crash" and to deal with its aftermath.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian aviation ministry and Egypt's Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, who is currently heading a crisis centre, has stressed that the search for the lostEgyptAir flight -MS804 that was on its way from Paris to Cairo, is still underway.
