KKK Plans to Disrupt Black Lives Matter Rally
KKK Leader: "They should be ashamed of themselves"

America’s oldest hate group has plans to disrupt a Black Lives Matter rally scheduled to take place in the Hamptons.

Patch reports that the KKK will bring members to a rally scheduled for Sunday in Westhampton Beach. The outlet spoke to a man who identified himself as a high-ranking KKK official.

Gary Monker, who identified himself as the Exalted Cyclops, or chief officer of New York’s Loyal White Knights of the KKK, said many people have misconceptions about the organization.

“We’re the only organization right now standing up for whites, upholding the second amendment of the Constitution,” he said. “We are not a hate group. We are Christian and we’re trying to restore America back to what it used to be.”

Monker said the Black Lives Matter movement and the Black Panthers are “a contradiction.”

“They always say they have peaceful protests but nothing is ever peaceful. They rape, pilfer, loot. They’re rioting and using this as an excuse to do wrong. It’s not right.”

Contrary to Monker’s claims, which are mostly false by the way, the Ku Klux Klan has long been — and continues to be — classified as a hate group in the country.

“Although Black Americans have typically been the Klan’s primary target, it also has attacked Jews, immigrants, gays and lesbians and, until recently, Catholics,” the The Southern Poverty Law Center’s website says. “Over the years since it was formed in December 1865, the Klan has typically seen itself as a Christian organization, although in modern times Klan groups are motivated by a variety of theological and political ideologies.”

The rally is set to take place at noon at the traffic circle near Village Hall. Monker would not disclose where the KKK members planned to gather during the day of protest.

Black Lives Matter organizer Vanessa Vascez-Corleone said she organized the rally after finding KKK flyers in the area, according to Patch. Westhampton Beach Police Department officials received two walk-in complaints from residents. Both complaints involved receiving a flyer inside a plastic, resealable bag found in driveways. The flyer was from the KKK, police said.

According to reports, the flyer said that “Black Lives Matter, Black Panthers are telling followers to kill white people and police officers in the name of justice.” It also said that Black people “were not innocent, they were thugs breaking the law and standing up against police.”

Vascez-Corleone said she’s looking forward to seeing the Klan Sunday.

“I would like to invite them to the rally. I honestly don’t believe they’re going to show up. I hope they come out of hiding.”
