The Syrian Army Foils ISIS Attacks Near Palmyra, Destroys Many Armored Vehicles

Homs, SANA – Army units foiled an ISIS attack in Bir al-Fawaraa area southwest of Palmyra in the eastern countryside of Homs province.

According to a military source, scores of ISIS terrorists were killed in the attack and three armored vehicles and a number of cars equipped with machine guns were destroyed.

Meanwhile, another army unit clashed with an ISIS group that attacked a military post in Tuloul al-Faras area northeast of al-Qaryatain town in the southeastern countryside of Homs.

All members of the terrorist group were killed and two armored vehicles and three cars equipped with 23 mm guns were destroyed as a result of the clashes.

Later, a military source told SANA that army units killed 30 terrorists from ISIS, injured others, and destroyed four armored vehicles and machinegun-equipped cars as they targeted their gatherings and movements east of the fourth station in Homs’ eastern countryside.

Meanwhile in the northern countryside of the province, army units killed 7 terrorists from Jabhat al-Nusra and destroyed weapons and munitions in their position near Jabourin village 19km north of Homs city.

The source went on to say that army operations also targeted al-Nusra terrorists’ gatherings and movements in Kisin village, leaving all members of a terrorist group dead or injured and destroying their weapons and munitions.
