Italian ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Perrone, stated Saturday that Libya has managed to fight terrorism and human smuggling by "deep commitment and effective partnerships."
Speaking at the Lennart Meri Conference in the Estonian capital of Tallinn, Perrone insisted on the need for Europe to be more aware of what is happening on its southern border, indicating that the time has come to an internal reconciliation in Libya by adhering to the plan of action of the United Nations mission.
Italy announced earlier that the crisis of migrants coming from Libya is about to be contained after recording a decline in the number of arrivals across the Mediterranean in the recent months.
