ANC Congratulates SASCO on Winning SRC Elections at the University of Limpopo
14 September 2018

The African National Congress (ANC) congratulates the South African Students Congress (SASCO) on winning the Student Representative Council (SRC) Elections at the University of Limpopo (previously known as Turflop). As the oldest, biggest and most progressive student organisation on the African continent, SASCO reclaimed the SRC in this institution by winning 9 out of 13 seats.

The Progressive Youth Alliance, under the banner of SASCO, has done exceptionally well in this year's SRC elections in our institutions of higher learning. The PYA has won the majority of seats at the University of South Africa (UNISA), University of Pretoria (UP), University of Free State (Qwa Qwa Campus) and Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), Lovedale College, Buffalo City College, East Midlands Colleges, Flavious Mareka Colleges and Free State School of Nursing.

These victories send an unequivocal message that students remain unwavering in their support for the Mass Democratic Movement (MDM), and continue to have confidence in the PYA, and SASCO in particular, to deliver on their aspirations.
The ANC encourages students in the following institutions of higher learning which are scheduled to have SRC elections in the near future, to vote for SASCO:

1. University of the Witwatersrand (Wits): 16 - 17 September 2018
2. Central University of Technology (CUT): 19 September 2018
