Lawyers for ousted Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi have withdrawn from the military-backed court due to the detention of the Muslim Brotherhood leader and elected head-of-state. Meanwhile a bomb explosion on a tourist bus in the Red Sea town of Taba has reportedly killed at least four people.
A white man has been convicted of attempted murder in the shooting death of Florida 17-year-old African American youth Jordan Davis. The jury was hung on the murder charges which state prosecutors say will be refiled.
The legacies of leading civil rights and human rights icons Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks and Malcolm X are being contested in popular culture and through the courts. A tremendous industry has grown up around their images and artifacts.
Finally, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has called upon the people to defend the Revolution. Opposition forces have been demonstrating against the Bolivarian government where several people
have been killed.
