WPK Central Committee Sends Open Letter to Foreign Political Parties
The Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea sent an open letter to political parties around the world on September 24.
The letter reads:
The Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea extends friendly greetings to political parties of different countries in the world that are struggling to achieve global peace and security and ensure social development and people’s well-being.
As reported, the US ruler Trump dared to hurt the supreme dignity of the DPRK and committed the unheard-of outrage of openly uttering the “total destruction” of the Korean state and people by abusing the sacred arena of the United Nations committed to international justice.
The Chairman of the DPRK State Affairs Commission resolutely declared that he would surely make the US chief executive pay for making the reckless remarks that he would get rid of the DPRK as he denied the very existence of our state and insulted it in front of the eyes of the world.
His statement is a reflection of the resentment of all our Party members and people and their will to fight to the finish against the US imperialists who dared to hurt our supreme dignity and undisguisedly revealed their design to plunge our people into a nuclear war calamity.
As the entire mankind vividly remembers, the US was the first to make nuclear weapons in the world and to use them in actual warfare to kill hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians.
The US, which is the one and only criminal nation that inflicted nuclear holocaust on humans in the world and has pursued the most heinous and flagrant hostile policy against the DPRK.
It is today’s reality that the ruler of such biggest nuclear weapons state in the world lets loose a spate of threatening remarks like “fire and fury” and “total destruction” almost every day.
The WPK’s plan for building a strategic nuclear force is to build a war deterrent geared to rooting out US nuclear threat that has persisted since the last century and preventing its military aggression, and our ultimate target is to strike a balance of power between the DPRK and the US.
In accordance with the line of simultaneously promoting economic construction and nuclear buildup it put forward, the WPK has provided a powerful treasured sword with which to firmly defend peace and security in the Korean peninsula and beyond and to safeguard the country’s rights to sovereignty, existence and development.
