Best Scientists and Technicians for 2017 Selected
Five persons have been selected as the best scientists and technicians of the state for Juche 106 (2017) in the DPRK.

According to an official concerned, they played key roles in achieving distinguished sci-tech successes conducive to sci-tech and economic development and the improvement of people's living standards.

Dr. Rim Chang Ho, head of the Medical Sci-tech Exchange Company of Pyongyang Medical College of Kim Il Sung University, made a great contribution to developing visual electrodiagnostic testing system.

Dr. and Associate Prof. Choe Tong Il, head of the Machine Designing Institute of Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering, conducted researches into putting the sanitary goods production process of the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Silk Mill on unmanned basis and established the unmanned production processes at some units.

Dr. and Associate Prof. Ryang Ji Song, a researcher of the IT Institute of Kim Chaek University of Technology, presented a new principle and method for developing and introducing a perfect information preserving translation system based on compress representation of a finite structured object.

Dr., Associate Prof. and Merited Scientist Ri Yong Il, head of the Paper Engineering Institute of the State Academy of Sciences, developed more than 10 kinds of functional paper goods like precision filter tip and high efficiency air filtration paper and completed the multi-functional paper production process.

Dr., Associate Prof. and Merited Scientist Kim Tok Su, head of the Electric Power System Institute of Kim Chaek University of Technology, suggested a plan for controlling high-speed ski lift of the Masikryong Ski Resort and established an electric power control system at the ski resort. He also played a key role in developing the CNC-based load power control system and contributed to establishing the national integrated power control system and putting several industrial establishments on a modern basis.
