Tablets to Honour Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il Unveiled in Russia
Tablets to honour President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il were displayed at the Russia-DPRK Friendship House in Khasan of Russia on February 15 with due ceremony on the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star, the birth anniversary of Kim Jong Il.

Engraved on the tablets are letters in Korean and Russian, reading "Russia-DPRK Friendship House where Comrade Kim Il Sung, President of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, visited on July 1, 1984 and July 6, 1988" and "Russia-DPRK Friendship House where Comrade Kim Jong Il, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, visited on August 18, 2001 and August 24, 2002".

The participants in the ceremony laid bouquets and flowers before the tablets.

The director of the Bureau for International Cooperation of the Maritime Territory Administration and other speakers said that the ceremony is of weighty significance in the development of bilateral relations.

Stressing that Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il provided a solid foundation for the friendly relations between the two countries, they hoped that the bilateral relations of friendship would grow stronger.

Present at the ceremony were personages from various units, including the Maritime Territory Administration, the Far East Railway Bureau and the mission of the Foreign Ministry in Vladivostok, and masses of Russia and the DPRK consul general and consuls in Vladivostok and officials concerned.
